Being super-rich can be an awful challenge sometimes. You love to show off your beautiful yacht, but when all of your close friends have their own yachts as well, what can you do?
Buy a more expensive yacht, of course.
With the following list of ridiculously-priced yachts, you can be sure all your overly-wealthy friends will be seething with jealousy once you’ve taken your pick of the bunch.

9 – The Rising Sun
$200 Million
Yes, this is on the cheap end of the scale.
Built in 2004 for Larry Ellison, the CEO of Oracle Corporation, this yacht is the 11th largest in the world at 453 feet in length.
Enjoy the 86,000 square feet of interior space spread out across 82 rooms, as well as the massive 36,000 square-foot deck, complete with a basketball court that also functions as a helicopter landing pad.
8 – Seven Seas
$200 Million
In case the last one didn’t suit your fancy, here’s another superyacht for the same price.
When you’re a multiple Academy Award-winning director like Stephen Spielberg, your boat needs to dream as big as your movies. While not as long as Rising Sun, this blue-colored beast boasts an infinity pool, helicopter pad, and its own elevator.
It has a movie theater as well, but you may have already guessed as much.
7 – Lady Moura
$210 Million
Owned by Saudi Arabian billionaire, Nasser Al-Rashid, not much is known about the Lady Moura other than her steep price.
For the extra $10 million, though, you’ll be getting a vessel just as capable as the previous two. Only this one has the letters of its name proudly displayed in pure, 24-karat gold. Why not?

6 – Ona (formerly Dilbar)
$263 Million
When you’re Russia’s richest man, how could you not own one of the most expensive yachts in the world? Alisher Usmanov named this vessel after his late mother when he had it built in 2008.
Like any self-respecting superyacht, it has a helicopter landing pad on the roof and is one of the largest yachts in the world at 360 feet in length.
5 – Al Said
$300 Million
Sultan Qaboos Bin Said Al Said of Oman named the Al Said after himself. Can you really blame him after spending that much?
Not everything about this yacht is vanity, of course. For $300 million you’ll be getting some of the most impressive features on any superyacht in the world, including:
- World’s highest displacement (15,850 tons)
- Most powerful engine (16,500kW)
- Fourth-longest length (508 ft)
- Impressive speed for its size (21 knots)
4 – Superyacht A
$323 Million
The creatively-named Superyacht A, while not exactly small, only measures about 390 feet in length. If we could get the 500-ft Al Said for $23 million cheaper, where are all those extra dollars going?
Try six convertible guest suites with moving walls, a nightclub, three swimming pools (one of which has a glass bottom), and a wholly unique exterior shape.
Oh, and don’t forget the two-inch thick bombproof glass comprising every window on the vessel. Security doesn’t come cheap these days.

3 – Dubai
$350 Million
The Dubai has changed many hands since it started construction in 1996, and it took until 2001 for the ship to finally be completed due to financial reasons. By then it belonged to Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates, who still owns it to this day.
Over 530 feet in length, it is the third largest yacht in the world. It features a brilliant circular glass staircase whose steps change color, leading through seven separate decks.
2 – Eclipse
$450 Million
The above price tag is a low estimate for this yacht—some sources have claimed numbers as high as over a billion dollars for its construction bill.
If Dubai wasn’t enough boat for you, Eclipse is the second largest yacht in the world at three whole extra feet longer than the former. This one has two helicopter pads as well, just in case having one doesn’t give you quite enough pride in your purchase.

1 – Streets of Monaco
$1 Billion
Every other yacht in this list is small-time compared to this monstrosity. Referred to as the world’s first “hyper yacht”, Streets of Monaco is quite literally a floating island. The design of its upper deck attempts to recreate the look of the iconic Mediterranean city with scaled-down models of some of its famous buildings and sights.
Other essential amenities include a sight-seeing submarine, artificial beach deck, and a go-kart track. Everything a proper vessel needs to make it on the high seas.
You may have to wait a while for this one, though, as it is still under construction.

Decisions, decisions.
It can sometimes be hard to decide exactly what to do with those hundreds of millions of dollars you have lying around, but yacht enthusiasts are certainly finding creative ways to make use of their ridiculously excessive cash.
Start saving now if you want a place on this list in the future—chances are these yachts will not remain the most expensive for long.
